Advanced Cardiac Rhythm Device Therapy
Certain abnormalities of the heart’s electrical system may require an implanted cardiac device to support heart rhythm or provide specialized therapy.
Dr. Rohan Ainchwar provides Pacemaker Implantation, AICD Implantation, Conduction System Pacing and CRT-D Implantation.
Pacemaker Implantation
A pacemaker is a small electronic device used to support the heart’s rhythm when the natural heartbeat is too slow or certain conduction abnormalities are present.
The system generally consists of a pulse generator and leads that communicate with the heart.
AICD Implantation
An Automatic Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (AICD) continuously monitors heart rhythm.
It is designed to provide appropriate therapy when certain potentially dangerous abnormal heart rhythms occur.
Conduction System Pacing
Conduction system pacing is an approach that aims to stimulate the heart through its natural electrical conduction pathways.
It may be considered for selected patients who require cardiac pacing based on their rhythm abnormality and clinical condition.
CRT-D Implantation
Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy with Defibrillator (CRT-D) combines cardiac resynchronization with defibrillator capabilities.
It may be considered in selected patients depending on heart pumping function, electrical conduction pattern and overall cardiac condition.
Selecting the Appropriate Device
Cardiac device selection depends on several factors:
- Type of rhythm disorder
- Heart rate and conduction abnormalities
- Heart pumping function
- Patient symptoms
- Underlying cardiovascular disease
- Individual clinical risk
Dr. Ainchwar’s training includes exposure to pacemaker, ICD and CRT clinics as well as electrophysiology, supporting comprehensive assessment and device-based cardiac care.
